When Jesus entered into Jerusalem just a few days prior to His death, He went into the temple and was soon confronted by the chief priests and elders (Matt. 21:23). They heard His parables and knew that He spoke of them, so they decided to try to trap Jesus in His own words (Matt. 21:45, 22:15).  After they failed to do so with their questions, Jesus asked one of His own:

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. Matthew 22:42

I believe that there can be no greater question for all of us to consider than this question.  All of us will have to give an account of ourselves, our lives, our decisions and our actions at the judgment.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27

If you are a believer, then you should have a ready answer for anyone who asks you this question.  The answer should be evident by the way you live your life. We know that a tree is surely known by its’ fruit (Matt. 12:33).  If you are a believer, you will obey.  If you obey, you are a believer.  It really is simple.  It costs everything, but it is simple.  Note how many times Jesus said “IF” in this passage:

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:5-14

If you are not a believer, or used to be one, please, please come home to where the loves is.  Here you will find the love you are looking for.  Here you will find rest.  Here you will find peace.  Don’t wait any longer.  There may not be a tomorrow.  Grace is here today. Is Jesus knocking on the door to your heart?  Did He used to live there?  Has He ever been there? Seek Him today with all your heart.
